About the Press
The editorial of the Centro de Investigaciones en Geografía Ambiental (CIGA) was established in 2008 and, since 2010, it has been part of the Dirección General de Publicaciones y Fomento Editorial (DGPFE) of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM).
Its main mission is to disseminate the results of projects undertaken by members of the center. Thus, the publication of publications linked to geographic and environmental themes is privileged, but it is not limited to the possibility of publishing works from other fields, from external researchers at the center or other institutions, always and when the internal editorial process is respected.
Editorial goals
- Sponsor and regulate the editorial activity of the Centro de Investigaciones en Geografía Ambiental (CIGA).
- Administer and concentrate information on the publications made and those in power.
- Disseminate, in book form, the results of projects undertaken by members of CIGA.
- Foster the interaction between authors, compilers or coordinators, editors, books and readers.
- Promote the free distribution of publications through their digital versions.
