Corografía y Escala Local: Enfoques desde la geografía cultural
Synopsis
The emphasis of this book is on the importance of studies on a local scale, precisely in an era marked by globalization. For cultural geography, it is in the localities where everything happens. It is in the neighborhood, in the community, in the commons, in the town and perhaps in the immediate region where the most significant events take place; where the inhabitants form an idea of the world and where the great misfortunes and the greatest joys of life occur. Although its scope is planetary, Geography has always cared for the study at the local scale.
This book is the collection of four chorographic studies carried out in Mexico. All four are traversed by the certainty that, to understand space, you have to focus on a human scale. They have been chosen because they show different areas in which the relationship of the individual with his place is exposed. The place is also approached theoretically through the analysis of the terms chorography, local scale and chorogenesis.
