Synopsis

In the 28 works included in this work, grouped into eleven sections, topics such as the advances in legislation in terms of ecological and territorial planning, its limitations and pending tasks are analyzed; some international experiences in the application of these policies and their relationship with risk management in vulnerable socioeconomic areas; new theoretical-methodological contributions for the study of the landscape and in terms of community planning; experiences of social participation in the elaboration of ecological ordinances and their contribution to the educational experience of students at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels; innovative proposals to reassess and incorporate the archaeological heritage in land use planning programs; some examples of ecological planning at different scales that include the advances achieved in the planning of coastal and marine areas; the relationships between ecological and territorial ordering and sustainable economic development; new methodological contributions to address the planning of urban and rural-urban spaces; the contradictions between the dynamics of urban growth and the search for environmental sustainability; and some experiences of public and social participation in the management of the order.
