The publication contains fourteen essays on various thematic fields that, selected and brought together in a single volume, offer an integrated vision of the work of researchers to study and understand the history and current affairs of the Patagonian region. The social construction of the landscape, urban territories, historical construction, indigenous movements and settlers, ancestral knowledge and knowledge of native peoples, scientific activity in key periods, historical and identity heritage, among others, constitute some of the topics addressed. Edited jointly by the Río Negro National University, the Environmental Geography Research Center of UNAM, the National University of Southern Patagonia and the National Patagonian Center of the National Council for Scientific and Technical Research.
